Alright friends, we've all been there before...the dreaded caption writer's block. It's obvious that consistent posting to Instagram helps you stay in front of potential clients, but if all you have is a nice photo and no story behind it you're missing out on so much potential!
"A picture is worth a thousand words" may be true...but why not add a few extra sentences about the beautiful story behind each image that'll help your audience connect with what they see even more.
- What is your WHY?
Sharing with intention is how you'll create a real community, and people will notice when you're being authentic! Think before you hit publish, "what is my intention behind sharing?" If you're wanting to share how much you love a product, be honest! If you want to brighten someone else's day, do it! Just remember to be sure your reason aligns with your brand.
- Create a CONVERSATION.
Including a call to action is a great way to let your audience engage and feel like they're really talking with you! Invite them to "double tap if they agree" or share their input in the comments!
- Use effective HASHTAGS.
What hashtags do you look at, and what hashtags are potential clients looking at? Be sure to use them at the end of related posts so that they'll be categorized and easy to find!
- Cut the CRAP.
Adding unnecessary fluff to paint a picture? Getting rid of those extra adjectives and speaking effectively is another great way to get the message across in a way your audience will understand.
- Be NATURAL.
Write your captions the way you would speak them! That way your audience will become familiar with your voice whether they're listening to you through video, or reading something you've written. It's the ultimate achievement to know someone read something and heard your voice in their head, right!? One great way to get comfortable doing this is by using the talk-text feature in your phone to type and fixing smaller errors before hitting publish!
